10:50pm update

Praise the Lord that Ethan's stats are still looking well tonight. For the first time since Ethan's surgery, one of the cardiologists took a good, long look at his heart through an echocardiogram (which looks like an ultrasound of the heart like the cardiologist did while we were pregnant). The cardiologist was very pleased to see that the heart's blood flow, the repaired parts and the Sano shunt added during the surgery all look great.

After dinner tonight, we took a mental break and went out to see a movie. We returned to see him after the movie and he was still doing well! The medications are doing what they need to in order to keep his stats stabilized, so we should be able to sleep well tonight, knowing he's still alright! Thank you everyone for your continued prayers for our sweet little son!

The little Super man is strong because he has parents that believe in the biggest Super hero of them all, the Almighty God. I know Ethan was sent here for all of us to learn from, it sure has reminded me how awesome God is!

Dan and Julie, even though we are far away, we continue to pray for you and your family and your doctors and nurses. I am so encouraged by your blog that everything is going so smoothly. Take a little advice from a vet of the PICU/Ronald McDonald house. Your babe is in the best possible hands right now with the nurses and docs and Lord watching over him. Take this time to rest and restore your own soul and your relationship with each other. Maybe you already know this. But as weeks turn to months and your very existence hangs on lab values and echos and xrays, you need to take a break. Time moves differently inside the hospital, always hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait. Nourish your selves, physically and spiritually. Rest yourselves. Because when you bring him home, and even when you get moved to the floor, time will speed up on you. I was very proud to see you went to a movie. Some parents would feel very guilty about this, thinking your are abdoning your son. But you need to live and laugh and realize there is a world outside those hospital walls. Aaron and I met a couple with twins through the Ronald McDonald house. The mom has not left the hospital except to go the the Mac house for 9 months. The Dad has now lost his job and their marraige is falling apart. I tell you this only because it took me months to figure out. I see you are already more sensible. We ask God to continue to bless you and keep you, to make His face to shine down upon you and give you His peace. Much love, Amber and Aaron and Lily and Reid

Dear Julie - please know that your family is being prayed for ALL over! I am a member of Grace Community church and lead an exercise class there. A class member of ours goes to your church and has asked that we lift you all up. We hae been doing so and I now just got to this website via NRCA enews letter - my daughter is in 2nd grade there. What a wonderful connection God has given us to continue to pray for you all. We will do so faithfully!!!
Sincerely,
