2:20 Update
It's 2:30 and Julie is 80% effaced and 4 cm. dialated. She is not in any pain since she got the epidural about 1:00. Since she only got a couple of hours sleep last night we're going to try to let her rest before things really pick up. Both sets of grandparents are here in the waiting room and both of her sisters and Jessica's husband Brandon. Dan's brother and sister will be here soon. Pray Baby Ethan could be born safely and fairly soon. Thanks!

Julie, Dan and Ethan - I just wanted to share with you a few verses that I read tonight that seem to have a special meaning in these circumstances. I have a wonderful books of prayers and promises for mothers that has really helped me pray for you tonight.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid ; do not be discouraged. Deut 31.8
The Lord will give strength to his people; The Lord will bless his people with peace. ps 29:11 - May the Lord's peace be with you tonight and throughout this trial. I pray that you will draw on his strength when your own seems depleted and I pray that Ethan will know the strength of Lord through you.
Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks Phil 4:6 - I can't imagine a more difficult verse for parents. Worry is natural and what could be harder than to tell parents not worry about thier child, especially when he is sick? But the truth is that God loves that baby even more than you do and Jesus will hold Ethan in his arms.
God bless you all and may he pour out his strength and love upon you.
In his name, Sarah
Congratulations! We are praying for you all. And look forward to meeting baby Ethan. May the Lord fill you with His Spirit and His strength. In prayer this morning I imagined three years from now seeing baby Ethan running through the halls of Crossroads. I know we are not supposed to look too far forward but this was the image that came to my mind.
